Personal 2020 Message from HR

As we wind down, what will undoubtedly be the most unforgettable year that is 2020, I wanted to send my sincere and heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you. It’s hard to believe how far back January 1, 2020 feels. But despite everything… what has come shining through for me is that this team has an unparalleled passion for hospitality.

Words that were not part of my vocabulary became my norm in 2020: covid, pandemic, CDC, asymptomatic, contact tracing, lockdown, furloughs, layoffs, flatten the curve, social distancing, adverse impact, protocols, face coverings, PPE, RRI West, Franchisee. I was challenged in my HR role in ways I never imagined and pushed to the limit on my sanity, sleep, and sound judgement. But I have to confess… through it all, I am here because of all of you. I continue to rise each day willing to be the best HR support for all of you. We are in this together and there isn’t a better collective team of people in this industry than we have at RRI West. So thank you for persevering with me, crying with me, screaming with me, learning with me and growing with me. We will move into 2021 with renewed excitement and energy because we have survived unprecedented times together and will come out successful on the other side. To you, to your teams, to your families… Have a wonderful holiday – however you may celebrate. Remember to breathe, smile and be grateful for how far we’ve come.
