We want to congratulate Meighan Ruffino, our newest member of the RRI West Management Team! Meighan was internally promoted this past January to officially take on the AGM role in St. Louis. Meighan joined RRI West in January 2023 as a front desk GSR, and quickly impressed not only her GM, Ebony, but also RRI West leadership in her customer service skills, passion to learn and ability to always have a positive attitude. Those traits, along with her growing hospitality skills, allowed us to move Meighan in the fall of 2023 to a Front Office Supervisor position. From there, Meighan to hone her management abilities, assist Ebony in strengthening the front desk team. By the end of 2023, we knew we had made the right decision in investing in Meighan and her development and officially promoted her to the AGM. Meighan completed her training in Framingham, MA (a HUGE thank you to Holly!) who had this to say about Meighan: "she is prepared, asks great questions, and takes the lead in daily, weekly and monthly tasks". Meighan's next goal? Turning her own development into training and retaining the awesome St. Louis team! CONGRATS MEIGHAN!

We all know that covid turned cash tips from "convenient and customary" to "creepy and contaminated" in a matter of minutes. As we moved on from that, we found that guests genuinely began carrying less cash. PayPal use significantly increased, Venmo exploded, and Tap-to-Pay became part of our everyday. According to a recent study, Americans using cashless ways to make purchases in a week is up to almost 50%.
As GMs, you have probably heard your teams discussing this very thing. And RRI West has heard them!! Joe hinted to this in his January Gazette video, but we are excited to announce a new partnership with HiFive Cashless Tipping!! This platform will allow guests the opportunity to scan a QR code in the room, be taken to a site where they can find your helpful housekeeper listed (or fantastic front desk GSR) and leave a tip for them! It sounds easy... and we promise IT IS!!
While there are lots of details still to be worked out, some test locations to be chosen, and training to come down the path soon... we wanted to make sure we were keeping you in the loop. The GMAC Team: Steve Zagzoug, Jon Campbell, Michael Smith, JoAnne Lemasters and Kevin Furst will be leading the charge and will be rolling out all of the details this month! We hope to have our first 10 locations using the platform by the end of the 1st QTR... and everyone else in the RRI West portfolio ready to go by the end of Q2. We are thrilled to be able to open this option to our guests... but more importantly... start putting "cash" back in our GSR's pockets!
