Congratulations go out to our very own, Gina Moyer, General Manager at our Columbus Downtown - Red Roof Plus+. She was nominated for the Select Service - General Manager of the Year; by the Ohio Hotel and Lodging Association at their annual Stars of the Industry Awards and she WON! We are so proud to call her one of our own and what an amazing accomplishment.
Linda Karcher, Director of Sales, along with the support of her entire team, submitted the following nomination:
"There are many leadership sayings. The majority talk about inspiring your team, being a mentor, and empowering those that surround you. It takes a special individual to successfully manage a hotel, and its day-to-day operations, without losing sight of your greatest asset, your people. Our GM does this with grace, humor, and understanding.
She is a true leader, in every sense of the word. She is routinely praised by senior leadership in her ability to increase revenue, manage expenses, and ensure that the hotel is running in tip top shape.
However, her greatest strength is her ability to see each employee as a unique, and valued member of our team. She embodies compassion, and empathy. She truly wants to see everyone succeed, not just in their position, but in their personal life. Many of our team members came to the hotel looking for a lifeline, a way to provide for their families. Like most of us, they have had their share of life’s ups, and downs. Our GM never judges a person’s past or circumstances. She is there with them every step of the way, encouraging them to reach ALL their goals, both professionally, and personally. Many times, due to this encouragement, team members have gone on to other industries, and positions. While losing great team members can create a staffing challenge, our GM was the first to congratulate them. She doesn’t lose an employee; she gains a friend."
Thank you Gina for always encompassing the our core values, supporting your team and being a true leader at RRI West!
